Julian Pinnick is an artist specializing in oil painting. He is from Nottingham, England, and studied Fine Art at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Over the past few years Julian has developed his own individual style of narrative paintings inspired by the urban environment.
“My paintings capture moments of time and treat the city streets as a stage set. Sometimes the stage is empty, but like L.S. Lowry I believe, ‘A street is not a street without people.’ I like to create the suggestion of something going on, a drama unfolding, and leave the rest to the viewer.”
Julian’s work is becoming highly collectable and is in a number of private and public collections including The R.C. Diocese of Southwark (A Southwark Triptych), and the Chancellor’s collection at De Montfort University (We Are Making A New World I & II).
In 2014 Julian was shortlisted for A&I "Artist of the Year" for his painting "Urban Reflection" and has been featured in Artists and Illustrators Magazine, The Artist, and The Big Issue.
